What’s new with Canon’s 5D Mark III versus Mark II
Lets start with the price: Mark II cost around $ 2,399 and Mark III $ 2,995
We need to compare the new features with the old Mark II and see if it worth to spend extra cash on a Canon EOS 5D mark III.
Is it worth to update your camera?
Lets see the most important features of the Canon EOS 5D Mark III
The autofocus system: Those of you who own the 5D Mark II are probably aware that it only has 9 AF point. I have a friend who has this camera always complain about the focus. Well, Canon has exceeded people’s expectations with the new model of Canon. They gave the 5D Mark III the 61-point. Wow, probably the most sophisticated AF system on the Digital camera on the Market today.
If you work depend of fast action, sport, event, wedding, concert, child-portrait and other event photography, this camera would be the best tool for you!
The sensor: the Canon 5D mark II has 21.1 megapixels while the Canon 5D Mark III has 22.3 megapixels sensor. The sensor found on Mark III is less noisy at high ISO settings than the Mark II. This is a great improvement to take photos at night without flash. For example if you are shooting a wedding or any event, the 5D Mark III can produce great photos setting at high ISO 32000 and still good shooting at ISO 6400, which is an impressive work. If you have Photoshop, you can use software to reduce noise and make the image looks better.

Another great feature of the Canon 5D mark III is the “silent” shooting modes. I remember when I used to shoot a wedding during the ceremony when I click the shutter, the sound was so loud that called everybody my attention lol. Thanks to this change you can take great candid photos on wedding or wild life without distracting the subject.

The processor: The new Digic-5+ processor found in the 5D Mark III has the most powerful CPU found in any SLR camera. In other words, that means that’s its able to handle large volumes of data at faster speeds by allowing shooting RAW files at 6 frames per second and processing video.
Should I buy the new 5D Mark III, then?
Depend what type of photography you  are shooting. Photographers who need the high ISO performance or rapid frame rates will benefit from the new features of the camera to shoot candid wedding shots, wildlife or sport photography.
